Field of Pumpkins - Underwood Family Farms
Underwood Family Farms
Who doesn't love the smell of pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin pie-but what about pumpkin patches? We revisited not only this adorable pumpkin patch, but also last year's photo series with Messina photos.
There is nothing like starting autumn searching for your favorite big orange pumpkin, in a sea of other big orange pumpkins, with a wagon at your heels covered in hay. The smiles of loved ones stretch further than this 200 acre family owned farm itself, with colorful canopys to announce food, live music or games. The leaves are as restless as the children, winding up like a Hot Wheels cars waiting for the doors to open so they can be set down to go.
With Halloween approaching (a little too quickly), the itch for autumn-feels is so real. We are trying to live vicariously through everyone who actually gets the warm tingle down their throat as they sip on warm Pumpkin Lattes, sunny days and crisp chilly nights, and, of course, Mother Nature's kind warning of winter with beautiful greens, yellows, reds and oranges of dying leaves as the cold approaches. We felt the only way to live this up, comparing to our 85 degree October days, was driving through Ventura to the cutest family farm, to pick the biggest orange pumpkin I could find.
