Unicorn Fairytail

In the midst of all this Halloween talk, I have been struggling to figure out what I want to be this year! I've searched high and low for something that is unique, not cliche and fits my personality. Amy Hollier, a celebrity make-up artist based in Beverly Hills, answered my prayers when she brought up the idea randomly one day, asking if she could do this Unicorn look on me. I thought about it- Rainbows, Freedom, Elegance (and I heard they poop candy!). It was meant to be!

Only two days later I found myself sitting in her brand new studio, setting up camera equipment to create an iconic video for others with the same problem as me needing costume ideas. I not only want to share the sheer talent of Amy, but also what two passionate creatives must do to stay relevant in this industry. We are constantly digging for the next best thing, and in order to continue to prove yourself, you must work (for free!) on the side, on your weekends and on your holidays, to really become successful.

Too many times I am asked how I have such a dream-like career. I get to travel [whenever I want], attend exciting new events or festivals and spend my life in front of a camera lens. But to shed a small ray of light on the realistic aspect of this career, it is very hard, and we must work very hard to continue to succeed. And that is what I consider the definition of passion! Waking up, everyday (not just 5 days a week), and pursuing your dreams. This weekend, I spent 5 hours with Amy creating an adorable Unicorn look and the next two days editing a video and photos to share. I hope this inspires you, not just for Halloween, but you know, to follow your dreams too ;)
