Protein Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe (Gluten Free): Fall is here!
Summer is officially over (crying inside) and I had to get my mind off the fact that it won’t be daisy duke season anymore, so I decided it was about time I shared with you guys my secret recipe I have teased on Instagram for the past year and crave on a daily basis.
I actually stumbled upon creating this recipe after I asked Garrett what types of baked goods he liked, since my typical brownie recipes he felt were too “guilty.” And when he didn’t eat the chocolate chunk divine brownies, well, you know who was left to do the job ;) I have no shame eating sugar, but as I fight for becoming the best version of myself, I want to cut back. No preservatives, nothing coming out of packaged Betty Crocker recipes (yes, i know they’re good. But not good for you!) and an ingredient list I am proud of. Garrett’s preferences were peanut butter cookies and banana bread. And because he is literally obsessed with healthy ingredients, I did my best to use quality and guilt-free ingredients without compensating the mouth watering flavors.
Originally, I made this banana bread with a white flour, and the recipe definitely turns out slightly better when using regular flour since I’m a texture person; but I have dedicated to my Gluten Free diet, especially in baked goods. If you aren’t on the GF bandwagon, I recommend making this recipe with wheat flour, oat flour or white flour.
Whats great about this banana bread:
Protein packed, making you feel fuller longer
Gluten Free
Very low in refined sugar
PRO TIP: When using coconut flour as I call for in this recipe, the thicker your batter, the better, so it cooks through.
