My Top Places to See in Mykonos

All I truly wanted for Summer 2021 was to travel, and trust me when I say I’ll find a way. My girlfriend from New York had a group going to Mykonos on the same dates my friends from Berlin were going, so we booked it and were off to spend a hot summer week in Greek paradise. I’ve been to Mykonos before, but I don’t think I could ever grow tired of its abundance of activities, healthy cuisine, good people with good energy and the prettiest sunsets I’ve ever seen. Here’s my top must visit spots while visiting Mykonos that will make you fall in love with Greece.

Nammos

Known for it’s ocean views and party brunch, Nammos is a perfect spot to kickstart a Greece vacation. Upon arriving, you make your way through a series of designer shops that you’ll want to visit after a couple drinks. At the beach you have a choice to either grab sunbeds with a gorgeous view of the small cove or sit inside at the ocean view tables for lunch. I personally think the way to go is grabbing lunch inside, dance on tables and take shots, wave some napkins around and then after you’ve had a boosy brunch, head to the sunbeds to dance and watch sunset. This is not necessarily a spot I’d relax at. It’s meant to be a party and the energy is contagious!

Scorpios

Iconic spot to watch the romantic sunsets, Scorpios has an ideal layout for any type of afternoon you want. With multiple levels and all outside, it has so many fun spots for photos. Daybeds are ocean front to swim, tan and relax, and on the ledge above are tables to eat, drink or party. This spot is amazing for lunch or dinner, but definitely make sure you are here for the sunset. This is a hot spot for all the right reasons.

Spilia

Easily my favorite lunch spot, Spilia has the best view hands down. Spilia means “cave” and the restaurant is nuzzled and built into the rocks. The best way to visit this lunch spot is by boat, so after being on the water all day, you can pull up and dingy into the stunning restaurant. Walking up the side of the cliff to the bathrooms is even a treat because you’ll be sure to see the fresh catch of the day next to the kitchen! This is one of those places that truly make Greece unforgettable.

Principote

Another lavish beach club restaurant that is great for lunch or dinner, and also a fun little party spot to make a grand entrance by boat. It’s perfect to let the afternoon drift by in a sunbed and end up grabbing dinner with an elevated crowd and loud house music playing. I love the dessert here, specifically the chocolate cake and bougatsa baklava dessert.

Buddha Bar

Located at Santa Marina’s private beach, Buddha Bar has a delicious asian cuisine with one of my favorite views and classy atmosphere. It’s very romantic and not too loud here which is nice to enjoy the company you’re with. The sashimi is amazing and overall a must-see.

Alemagou

This is the cutest bohohemian style restaurant with lunch and daybeds. I would recommend doing the afternoon and relaxing. The food here is superb and won’t disappoint!
