It’s the night before we jet off to Tulum for an exciting collaboration with Avenida House, and I’m sitting in a salon chair sweating. I’ve decided to cut off all my hair willingly, but I’m terrified. It’s been a long discussion meeting with new modeling agencies to get a professional opinion on what look will suit me best, and after having long mermaid hair my entire life, we decided together that a shorter, sassier chop would suit me better. ;) I’m always ready to do what will make me the best at my job, and changing my look is no different. So as the hair dresser cuts and makes sure to brush the long ends to the floor so I don’t see how much is gone, I exhale. I’m ready but very scared. I sign with Select Model Management to represent me and my career for their warm nature, professional and experienced agents and of course the best clients. The hair change was shocking and a change I never would’ve made on my own, but I realized in order to get out of my own comfort zone and grow, I needed to challenge myself. So with a new haircut, a modeling portfolio awaiting fresh images with my new look and photographers sitting in Tulum ready to make dreamy content, I jetset once again to Mexico.
This was my first time visiting Tulum, and to be honest my original expectations were a college vibe, beachfront version of Las Vegas. In many ways it can be, but the beauty here is that it can be as chill or as crazy as you want it to be. We chose something in the middle, making the daytime productive but hitting the club style restaurants in the evening. The parties here are nuts, the artwork is original and jaw dropping and everyone from around the world come here to get a taste of what Tulum has to offer. I loved it!
The next four days blurred together, from parties at Taboo, photoshoots at the Avenida House, midday tequila shots at Papaya Playa Project and lots and lots of Sparklers. I hope to find myself back at this crazy, beautiful, charming and wild little spot in Mexico again soon!
