When asked why I love modeling, I usually respond with my adoration for fashion. Put simply, it’s a combination of dressing myself in ways I can express my moods and creativity, watching others dress and express their uniqueness, and learning from the past generations of icons who have made history through this art. Modeling gives me the rare opportunity to see these geniuses in their element, watching their visions blossom into jaw dropping runway looks. I find myself captivated and grateful to be on the forefront of where fashion is going next and getting to see previews of trends before they even hit public eye. Coming to New York for Fashion Week inspired me once again, relaying one of the most important messages that I believe fashion has to offer: to push boundaries and not be afraid to be different.
Day 1
We landed in snowy New York at 3:45pm on 4 hours of sleep from a previous Superbowl event in LA with our suitcases filled with a week of back-to-back fashion fits. Our schedule allowed us a 30 minute window from the time we arrived at our home for the week, Hugo Hotel, to get changed into our first runway outfit to attend Nalebe. But when we pulled up to the front of Spring Studio on night one, we were turned away at the door for not having booster shots. With no way to get inside, we scheduled some covid tests for the week, snapped a couple paparazzi shots and headed back to the hotel.
